The Investor Intel lens transforms Signal Ark from a sales intelligence tool into a deal-sourcing engine for Venture Capital and Private Equity teams. It continuously monitors your target company universe for the compounding signals that precede a fundraise, an exit, or a rapid growth inflection — and surfaces them before they appear on Crunchbase or in a press release. The lens is purpose-built for investment workflows: the signal taxonomy, scoring model, and priority bands are all calibrated for sourcing conviction, not sales outreach. It operates with full data isolation from your standard sales pipeline, so deal sourcing signals never pollute your GTM feed.Documentation Index

Core signal families
The Investor Intel lens monitors eight high-value signal families specifically selected for investment relevance:| Signal family | What it tracks |
|---|---|
funding_round | Undisclosed or early-stage capital injection indicators — not just announced rounds |
hiring_surge | Rapid headcount growth, particularly in engineering or GTM roles, indicating scale |
international_expansion | Office openings or market launches in new geographic regions |
product_launch | Major V2 releases or pivot signals indicating product maturity inflection |
executive_hire | Experienced, late-stage executives joining — often a pre-exit readiness signal |
partnership_channel | Strategic alliances with enterprise players that expand addressable market |
revenue_signal | Milestone announcements or ARR crossing indicators |
risk_indicator | Layoffs, executive flight, or negative market sentiment — negative weight in scoring |
risk_indicator signals are the only ones that negatively weight a company’s total investment score. A hiring surge combined with a recent executive departure tells a different story than a hiring surge alone.
5-dimension investment scoring model
The scoring engine evaluates each company’s attractiveness across five dimensions to produce atotalInvestmentScore between 0 and 100.
| Dimension | Max score | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Growth trajectory | 30 | Velocity of hiring, web traffic, and developer activity over time |
| Market timing | 20 | Alignment with macro trends and recent competitor funding activity |
| Team strength | 20 | Caliber of recent executive hires and strength of the founding team |
| Product maturity | 15 | Signs of enterprise readiness — tech stack evolution, feature launch cadence |
| Risk assessment | 15 | Negative weighting for layoffs, executive churn, or regulatory exposure |
Priority bands
Companies are categorized into four investment priority bands based on their total score. Use these bands to triage your sourcing pipeline.Prime Opportunity — 80+
Requires immediate review. The company is exhibiting compounding hyper-growth signals across multiple dimensions. These are the accounts most likely to be raising or in an active process. Reach out to founders or schedule an intro call now.
Strong Prospect — 60–79
High potential, but not yet hitting on all dimensions. Add to your active monitoring pipeline and set a review cadence. These companies often cross into Prime Opportunity territory within 30–60 days if momentum continues.
Monitor — 40–59
Early indicators of traction, but more data is needed to build conviction. Keep these companies in the background. A single additional signal — a key executive hire or a major partnership announcement — may be enough to move them to Strong Prospect.
Using the Investor Intel lens
Switch to Investor Intel
Use the lens selector in the top navigation to switch from the default Sales Pipeline lens to Investor Intel. Your account list view and signal feed update immediately to reflect investment-specific scoring and signal families.
Review Prime Opportunity accounts
Filter your account list to Prime Opportunity (80+) to see the highest-conviction targets in your current tracking universe. Review the compounding signals that drove the score — you’ll see which dimensions are contributing and which are lagging.
Add companies to track
If a company isn’t already in your Signal Ark workspace, add it through the account import or domain search. The Investor Intel lens begins scoring it immediately using available signal data.
The Investor Intel lens operates on the same underlying signal data as the Sales Pipeline lens but uses a dedicated scoring model calibrated for investment workflows. Your investment pipeline data is fully isolated from your sales pipeline — switching lenses never mixes deal sourcing signals into your sales rep feed.
