When you add an account to Signal Ark — by any method — the platform immediately begins building a complete profile for it. You don’t need to manually look up company data or import it from a separate tool. Enrichment happens in the background, and the results feed directly into ICP scoring and signal prioritization.

Firmographic enrichment

Signal Ark uses a two-provider waterfall to maximize match rates while keeping costs predictable. The pipeline runs in this order:
1

Primary: TheCompaniesAPI (TCA)

Signal Ark queries TCA first for all firmographic fields: industry vertical, employee count, estimated annual revenue, headquarters location, and founding year. TCA provides high-quality company data and is used as the default source for the majority of accounts.
2

Fallback: People Data Labs (PDL)

If TCA returns incomplete data for critical fields — or cannot match the account at all — the pipeline automatically falls back to PDL. This typically happens for smaller companies, recently founded startups, or companies with limited public presence.
3

Tech stack detection

After firmographic data is resolved, Signal Ark scans the account’s public-facing website to detect installed technologies. This includes marketing tools, analytics platforms, CRM systems, cloud infrastructure providers, and security software. Tech stack data is used to identify displacement opportunities and complementary product plays.
Enrichment is automatically triggered when you add an account via domain paste, CSV import, ABM intake, or manual entry. You can also re-trigger enrichment on an existing account from its profile page if the data is stale or incomplete.

Contact discovery

Signal Ark can automatically find and verify contacts at your target accounts. This runs when an account crosses a high-intent threshold or when you manually trigger it from the account profile.
1

Persona matching

Signal Ark queries PDL to find contacts whose job titles match your configured target personas — for example, CISO, VP of Engineering, or CFO. You define these personas in your workspace settings, and the discovery engine uses them to filter results.
2

Email verification

Once a matching contact is identified, Signal Ark resolves and verifies a deliverable corporate email address using pattern inference (for example, firstname.lastname@company.com) and email verification services.
TCA does not support people search, so contact discovery always uses PDL as its data source. This is separate from the firmographic waterfall.

Credit usage

Enrichment actions that draw on external providers consume credits from your workspace balance.
ActionCredits
Firmographic enrichment (TCA + PDL waterfall)1 credit
LinkedIn profile enrichment1 credit
Contact / people search3 credits
You can monitor your credit usage and remaining balance in Settings > Billing.
Contact discovery consumes 3 credits per search. If you’re running high-volume discovery on large account lists, check your credit balance first to avoid hitting your monthly limit mid-run.

When enrichment data is missing

If an account’s profile is incomplete after enrichment runs, there are a few common causes:
Newly founded companies or those without a public website may not appear in TCA or PDL’s datasets. In this case, you can manually enter key firmographic fields directly on the account profile — manually entered values are preserved when enrichment re-runs.
Some domains are personal sites, parked pages, or redirects. Signal Ark flags these during ingestion. Try adding the account using its LinkedIn Company URL instead of the domain, which improves resolution accuracy.
Tech stack detection requires a publicly accessible website. If the domain returns a 404, is behind authentication, or has no detectable frontend technology, the tech stack section will remain blank.
If your workspace has exhausted its monthly credit balance, enrichment jobs are queued but not executed until credits are replenished. You’ll see a banner in Settings > Billing when your balance is low.
